As you wait by the lakes edge for the boats that will take you on the final part of your journey to Hogwarts, the man introduces himself.

"Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of the Keys at Hogwarts. What's yer name then?"

"Where d'y come from then?"

"Nice place, that, wen' there once. When were y'born?" [Today's RP date is April 23, 1994. Your birthday is based on the RP Date.]

"I was born in September messel', bought up by m'd dad. Had t'fend for messel' from second year though. Wha' abou' you? Tell me a bit abou' yesself."

"An' how abou' yer personality?"

You look over the side of the boat into the water as you speak. Usually you would be able to see yourself staring back at you from beneath the shimmering ripples of water. But it's pitch black and all you can see are the murky depths.

"'Is dark an' me eyes arn' what they used ter be. Can ye describe yoursel' for me?"

"Why did y'want to come to Hogwarts? An' how'd 'ye find out abou' th' place?"

"Is there anythin' special y'can do?"

"An' what wand did y'get yersel'?"

"Well mind yersel' getting out of the boat now. Don' wan' ter see ye' endin' up as squid food, do we?"

As you step out of the boat and join the crowds of first years on the stone steps, Hagrid calls out again.

"Follow th' steps up ter the top an' meet Mr Bouvy. Ye'll have ter follow him te the castle."

You climb the steps. Warren Bouvy, caretaker, stands immobile at the top of the steps, grimmacing down at you as though he'd rather be boiled in oil than taking you into the castle. He rolls his eyes, turns, and walks through the doors.

"Well come on then. 'Urry up you 'orrible lot."

You reluctantly follow him wondering due to his lack of introduction if he's the right person. He leads you into the castle and pauses in a small chamber at the foot of another staircase. He starts ticking off names on a list and after a moment he turns to you.
