| Homework and Anonymity |
Several of the teachers have noticed a trend in homework assignments this year where the submitted assignment will include a reference to who the student is or what house they are in. Just as a reminder, the homework assignments you complete within the classroom module are to be as ANONYMOUS as possible. Meaning that you can't make any reference to your character's name or what house he/she is in. The reason we do it like that is so when the homework is graded your hard work won't be fudged in favor of a particular house.
For instance, if a Ravenclaw student submitted a homework assignment that didn't have a single correct answer but included the fact that the student was a Ravie, I could give the assignment full points in order to boost Ravenclaw's standing for the House Cup and no one would be the wiser. But I'm an honorable teacher and I would never do that :shifty: Me? Pffbt.
But anyway, please be careful to keep your assignments anonymous. Any assignments turned in that have personal references WILL NOT be assigned any points. You don't want your hard work to go right into the trash bin. And teachers, when you write your lessons please make sure that you don't ask questions that require this kind of information to be divulged. I myself haven't seen an instance of this but a friendly reminder never hurts.
ALSO, for those with a foreign student account, once the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang delegations arrive at Hogwarts, even though foreign students cannot submit homework assignments (where would the points go? XD) you are more than welcome to include your foreign students in the classroom roleplays. |

There will be a few more threads coming from me (well, my German guise, anyway) in the next few days, so keep an eye out for owls and announcements. In the meantime, go roleplay and have fun! :D |

| Important Triwizard Info |
So apparently we may have a bug in the mass owl function, we're finding out some people didn't get a notice from my owl link to the thread but when they check their actual inbox page it's there. So as per my request for champion contenders to check their owls every day - please actually go to your inbox page on your triwizard account each day even if you don't get an announcement until we figure out if there's a bug in the system or what's going on - and if you're French and you check and there's no owl there PLEASE a) Owl me and tell me and b) Go check the forum (258) yourself and post in the thread there.
Second order of business - Durmstrang threads - are now in the care of Tadeusz Blaszczyk - he'll have a thread up by the weekend and like I'm doing you Durmies will also receive owls from him so you be sure to check also because of bug issues. If you have questions/concerns you can owl her or me :)
Third Order of business - These SWP threads are really important.. - I'm going to assume I only have two responses to the thread I posted for the Beaux and sent links to 12 people and yet only have two responses almost four days later is because no one got the notice that they had an owl - I know it's a busy time of year so if you need to work something out and you can't post for a few days - okay owl me and we will :) however you guys have to post in all the threads that're denoted for all Frenchies and all Durmstrangs and they HAVE to be a priority over all other threads for this to work in the time we have. So if you know there's a thread there and you're going to wait six days to post in it please please please let me know! I know how busy a time it is for uni students.
Fourth Order of Business - Okay.. as per my last order of business - the SWP threads are important - because of this the staff have decided that in order to be eligible to have your character chosen from the Goblet as your school's champion you MUST have made a post in each of the required SWP threads. We don't think that's asking too much - There will be a toonn of threads needed for those chosen and if you don't post in at least a simple rudimentary SWP thread, then the staff assumes we won't be able to count on you to post in the more important tournament threads in a timely manner. So let us know if there's some problem- we're not inhuman we're just trying to be serious about this and we ask that you do the same. |

| Triwizard threads/owls |
Hey loves,
I wanted to let you know that we're getting this machine for the Triwizard tournament rolling and I wanted to put out a memo that the first thread for all the Beaux is up - French students should have all gotten a link - if I missed you oops! it's forum 258. Durmstrang should have threads up due soon.
I want to ask you guys who have triwizard characters to check your owl inboxes every day you're on the site I know most of you have been logging into your main characters but I'm sure some people don't check their triwizard ones every day - however, now that the tournament is starting - you need to XD. We'll be sending you memos and thread links for the SWP threads pertaining to your characters via owl post to avoid cluttering news space with it every time a thread is posted and we need these threads to be well attended and effective and timely - in other words if you get a link please try to post in the respective thread as soon as you can to keep it moving as threads that involve either all the French students or All the North Europens are going to be quite large - they have great potential and we only have a limited time to run these threads so please keep on top of them :)
Also bear in mind that within 2-3 weeks by site time the delegates will be arriving at Hogwarts so if you want to have personal threads with your characters at their respective schools or transportation threads etc - now is the time to be doing them! |

| Recently a few sites have appeared, and in some cases have actually asked us to affiliate with them, having taken content from EH/Nox and put it up without permission from me. If you own a site and have even the smallest snippet of content from EH/Nox and have not requested (and gained) permission from me to use it, you need to take it down straight away. Anyone found with our content on their own websites without having gained my permission as site owner will be reported to their web hosts, and possibly also their ISPs depending on exactly how bad the infringement is. Currently permission is not being granted to anyone, and in the case of some features/pages, will -never- be available to borrow, hire or buy. Coming up with your own rule lists etc. isn't rocket science. |
